It will be Prakash Mehra’s sons’ next after ‘Zanjeer’

Bollywood is clearly running out of ideas. In a year of sequels and remakes, make way for another one – Amitabh Bachchan’s blockbuster hit ‘Muqaddar Ka Sikandar’ And the people behind this project are the ones who are reprising another Bachchan hit, ‘Zanjeer’ as well. The late Prakash Mehra’s sons – Sumit, Punit and Amit – who own the worldwide rights to all the films Prakash Mehra’s films are planning to remake most their father’s films and after ‘Zanjeer’, they have zeroed in on this Amitabh-Vinod Khanna-Rekha-Rakhee starrer.
Then the Mehra boys plan to remake Prakash Mehra's ‘Laawaaris’, ‘Sharaabi’, ‘Namak Halaal’, ‘Hera Pheri’ and ‘Haath Ki Safaai’.
Talking about his father's blockbuster, Amit said, "What I love about Muqaddar Ka Sikandar is that every protagonist in the film, including Amjad Khan Saab, is a passionate lover. The remake would have to be cast very carefully. We don't have too many actors today who can pull off the role of intense lovers."

However, sources say Amit has already set his eyes on Abhishek Bachchan to reprise the role of the protagonist Sikandar played by his father Amitabh Bachchan in the original.
Casting apart, post Salim Javed's royalty demand for the ‘Zanjeer’ remake, there is a fear in the Mehras' camp about the writer of the original story, Vijay Kaul coming forward to lay a claim on the remake.
Hopefully this time, the brothers will seek more than the writer's blessings before launching the project.

He was keen to show Nathalia almost nude!

Ram Gopal Varma, who is otherwise known to be quite thrifty, recently presented Nathalia Kaur with a costume she wore in his new film
Ram Gopal Varma has gifted Bollywood actress and model Nathalia Kaur the costume she wore for her item number in his upcoming film.
This special gesture for the half Indian-half Brazilian calendar girl took everyone by surprise including his production house folk as Ramu is not exactly known for showering gifts on his stars.Says Natalia, “While shooting for my item song Dan Dan, I realised that I really liked the outfit. It was exquisitely designed and fabulous. Later Ramu sir generously offered it to me to keep it after the shoot.”
A
pparently the filmmaker was so impressed with Nathalia and her moves that in a fit of generosity he told her to take it home. The red and silver dress has been designed by Leepakshi Ellawadi who earlier styled Amitabh Bachchan for Bbuddah Hoga Tera Baap.

Unit sources say the filmmaker’s brief was to show off Nathalia’s ample assets and curves.
Says a unit source, “It was as if he was keen to show her almost nude! She has no inhibitions about exposure and oozes a confident body language, so he felt the costume had to do justice to it.

It was Sanju's idea to have Nathalia as item girl

The trailers are in the theatres and the promotional clippings are ready to be aired. But the film’s producers Viacom 18 have decided to shoot an additional song which will not only be sung by Sanjay Dutt.

There have been loud whispers about Sanjay Dutt’s more than passing interest in behind-the-scenes proceedings of his latest film Department. Dutt has been looking closely at the progression of the shooting, specially towards the closing lap.
In fact it was Dutt who suggested Brazilian model Nathalia for the item song rather than a known face from Bollywood. And now comes the clincher. Next week Sanjay Dutt would personally shoot a song featuring himself and to be choreographed by Dutt’s friend and protégé choreographer Ahmed Khan.
A very reliable source from Viacom 18 informed, “Sanjay Dutt will be shooting the song with Ahmed Khan’s choreography. The peppy edgy number has been composed by Sandeep Chowta and Mr Dutt would be recording the song in his own voice. There’s no doubt that Sanjay Dutt is a major attraction after Agneepath. We want to make sure he is projected as the film’s USP. ”
(Mr Bachchan has a cameo in the film).
Dutt would be taking charge of the song which besides being aired on all the channels would also be appended on to the film for the end-titles.
While the Viacom source chose to remain anonymous, choreographer Ahmed Khan spilled the beans. “Yes, we are shooting a song for Department. It’s a music video to be sung by Baba. He and I are getting together once again after he sang and I shot Aye shivani in Sanjay Chhel’s Khubsoorat. This time it’s an edgy song with no dancing. ”
