If you loved the satire and cynical humour in the 2011 laugh riot ‘Delhi Belly’ then get ready to watch it all over again in Tamil!
According to the production house, UTV Motion Pictures that the low budget venture made in English, the film will soon be remade in Tamil.
An industry insider said that the Tamil version will be directed by R Kannan who has directed movies such as ‘Jayamkondan’ and ‘Kanden Kadhalai.’ South Indian actor Arya will reportedly essay Imran Khan’s role in the movie, while comedian Santhanam and popular actor Premgi are likely to step into Kunal Roy Kapoor and stand-up comedian Vir Das' shoes. Hansika Motwani and Anjali are being considered for the female leads in the movie. Veteran artiste Nasser will play the thug, originally essayed by Vijay Raaz.
According to the CEO of UTV Motion Pictures, Siddharth Roy Kapur, the fine storytelling and content of the movie transcended cultural boundaries and therefore would appeal to Tamil audiences as well.
The film will go on the floors on May 7, 2012 in Chennai and is expected to release in January 2013.
